Welcome, Yugo!

We'd like to welcome Yugo Zachary Yamamoto into the world.

(Anyone looking for an automobile appretiation site should, regrettably, look elsewhere.)

He was born on Thursday, February 10, 2005 at 17:39 pm at the New York Presbyterian Hospital in a low-ceilinged birthing room overlooking the East Rvier, the Queensboro Bridge and Roosevelt Island. It seems that these details should carry more weight, like the extra 8 pounds and 4 ounces added to the planet, the brown eyes, the dark, stubborn hair. I guess for me they always will. A convergence of happy and confused facts that will continue to grow alongside my son. (More on what those last two words later...)

Two weeks have passed since then. Multiple feedings, sleep-ins, protests and mini-revolutions: all the militants crying together in one little baby who is becoming mighty good at suckling, burping, and producing both solid and liquid waste. We invite you to watch the Yugo revolution spread.
